So, to be honest, I don't really care what deviant art looks like as long as it works.  This new layout doesn't quite work completely, yet, but I assume that like any piece of software, they are still shaking out the bugs.  Having worked at a couple software companies myself, I can appreciate how hard it is to launch a quality product and really have it work well.  I still have a lot of gripes with the layout, but I think other artists have explored that in enough detail.  Here is what I like about the new layout:

1) It is still grey themed.  No super vibrant colors to burn out the sensitive eyes of deviantart dwellers

2) More of the recent photos are viewable in thumbnail

3) Full view isn't a whole other page, I guess.
